Maps!
I thought it best to share where it all began.
The other day I was talking with a friend about where my story started – I explained one thing after another, spiralling backwards in time trying to pinpoint the foundations on which Pathfinder sits.
I found it went back all the way to 2008 or there abouts.
I was fresh out of high school with time on my hands – yet not only time! I had paper and a pencil!
There, I started drawing a map – I love a good map - I placed rivers and trees and cities and roads and ranges and coasts and fjords.
Anyway – I loved it.
I then imagined the people living there, their lives and struggles and hopes and dreams. Zooming in, I imagined individuals pushing and pulling against the societies. Soon enough there was a world history developing and I had lost control, the thing grew on its own by now.
And soon enough, I started writing about a young boy, Rowan, growing up in a backwater province and itching to see the world beyond.
Below is the map of Floren, the south-west corner of the known world.
