Launch Party!

Hi all! To celebrate the launch of my blog spot, I’m going to share with you my top 7 writing ambitions! Each is at a different stage of completeness and can hardly suggest a release date - they are but a teaser for what’s to come.

1/ Pathfinder: Fantasy - Novels 1-4 – follows the story of Rowan, able to outrun anything - all but his father’s shadow. A coming-of-age story in a world of magic, court intrigue and unexpected adventure. Pathfinder is nearest to being completed, so you will be hearing the most about it in the coming months, I am currently in search of an editor and an agent who will help me get this book finally into a bookshop!

2/ Merryadnee: Fantasy - Novels 1-2 – a spin off series to Pathfinder, following Rowan’s alchemist sister, Merryadnee. She must keep her secret hidden from the world, as she makes an escape to an island which may hold answers to her freedom.

3/ Near-Far: Science Fiction – Novellas 1-3: follows the story of scientists across two generations, in pursuit of faster than light travel. Told in a non-linear fashion, it keeps you guessing till the end. Book one is completed and available on Amazon, however, as it was my first book, it needs a lot of editing and finishing touches. Stay tuned.

4/ Aperture, Rift, Schism: Screenplays – Sci-Fi - Aperture is a completed screenplay, however, as above, it needs a lot of editing and reducing – if 1 page is equal to 1 minute of screen time, Aperture currently rocks up at 3 and a half hours. It follows on from the discoveries in Near-Far, set in the far future where a galactic society undergoes a civil war. An academy planet is torn between choosing sides until it becomes clear what is at stake.

5/ The Battler: Screenplay – This one follows a man’s rebirth into the world, through a dodgy bus company, a dodgy court case, and dodging his own fears of love. Based on a true story, I couldn’t say no to writing a classic Aussie comedy drama.

6/ Machu Picchu: Screenplay – The name is a place holder for something in the vein of Indiana Jones meets The Mummy. Alex Chase gets into Yale simply to steal an artifact from their archives and rush off on an adventure, following his lost father’s final quest.

7/ Corvius and Rictor: Short Stories – I imagined a series of short stories following a pair of soldiers who are perpetually fated to meet each other, only to die and be reborn again. They don’t realise their fate until the last moments, cursed by a story demon to repeat without proper conclusion.
